Troopers Investigate Attempted Robbery of Townsend Shore Stop

Townsend, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Townsend area gas station that occurred early this morning.

The investigation has determined that the incident occurred this morning, Monday, June 27, 2016, at approximately 2:04 a.m., as a male suspect entered the Shore Stop, located at 4235 DuPont Parkway, Townsend. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, approached a male employee of the store and presented a demand note for cash. The employee, however, refused to comply with the suspect’s demands. The suspect then fled from the store and was last seen fleeing from the parking lot in an unknown make and model pick-up truck. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect was described as a white male. He was 5’07”-5’09” tall, weighed 160-170 lbs., had short red hair, and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. There is no further physical or clothing description available.
