Lincoln – The Delaware State Police have arrested two people for heroin possession after they were observed parked in the driveway of an abandoned house.

The incident occurred Saturday June 18, 2016 around 8:30 p.m. as a trooper on patrol in the area of Neal Road just west of Crooked Road observed a suspicious red Buick Le Sabre backed into a driveway of a known abandoned residence. Upon approaching the Buick, one of the subjects was observed sitting outside the vehicle in a chair, while another was seated inside the car.  The trooper made contact with the two, who were later identified as Christopher H. Thomas, 21 of Lincoln, and Leon T. Davis, 22 of Greenwood, and a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  Upon conducting a pat-down search of Thomas, 6 bags of heroin (0.09 grams) were located in his pocket along with 4.7 grams of marijuana and over $280.00 in suspected drug proceeds.  As the trooper continued to search Thomas, an additional 35 bags of heroin (0.525 grams) was located in his shoe.  A search was then conducted on Davis who was found to be in possession of 1.2 grams of marijuana as well as over $1,400.00 in suspected drug proceeds.  Both subjects were then placed in custody without incident and a search of the Le Sabre uncovered a Crown Royal bag containing 585 bags of heroin (8.775 grams) under the driver’s side seat where Thomas was sitting.

Christopher Thomas and Leon Davis were transported back to Troop 7 in Lewes where they were both charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Heroin, Conspiracy 2nd, Conspiracy 3rd, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.  They were arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,600.00 secured bond.
