**Traffic Advisory** Troopers Investigating Serious Crash Involving a Pedestrian

New Castle (19720) – Delaware State Police is currently at the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash in which a pedestrian was struck.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:11 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, June 30, 2017, on southbound US Rt. 13 (S. Dupont Highway) just south of US Rt. 40 (Pulaski Highway) and involves a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. As a result of the crash the pedestrian that was struck has sustained very serious injuries.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of US Rt. 13 south of US Rt. 40 have been closed to traffic. Commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel.

This crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police. More information will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
