Troopers Investigating Liquor Store Assault-One in Custody, Two at Large

New Castle – The Delaware State Police have arrested 19 year old, Lynshone Glascoe of New Castle in connection with an assault that took place inside a New Castle area liquor store on Tuesday night and are asking for the public’s help in identifying two at-large suspects.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:21 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Collins Park Liquors, located at 226 New Castle Avenue. Glascoe along with two unknown suspects, one male and one female, became engaged in a verbal altercation with two store employees, after the female suspect attempted to shoplift merchandise. The altercation turned physical when Glascoe and the two unidentified suspects began to repeatedly punch the two victims. During the course of the assault the female suspect used a shard of glass from a liquor bottle that was broken during the altercation to stab one of the victims in the neck and the other in the shoulder, causing serious injuries. Upon fleeing the suspects also broke a glass window at the business by striking it with an unknown object.

Glascoe was taken in to custody by Troopers during a search of the area. The two at-large suspects have not been identified at this time.

Glascoe was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

  • Assault 2nd Degree (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy 3rd degree
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Disorderly Conduct

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #11 and then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $20,000.00 secured bail.
