Wilmington – The Delaware State Police have arrested two Wilmington men in connection with the armed robbery of a Wilmington pharmacy that took place Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:21 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018, Troopers responded to Ainsley’s Pharmacy, located at 3610 Miller Rd., Wilmington in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred. The initial investigation determined that a masked subject brandishing a handgun, who would later be identified as 27 year old, Lance Parker of Wilmington, entered the business and then vaulted the pharmacy counter where he confronted three employees. Parker then ordered the employees to turn over drugs from the safe. During this time Parker also pulled the phone line from the wall disabling it. After obtaining the drugs that were demanded Parker locked all three victims in the drug safe. As he exited the business Parker also made off with one of the victim’s purse. None of the victims were injured as a result of the incident.
After exiting the business Parker entered into an awaiting vehicle in the parking lot that was operated by a subject who would later be identified as 33 year old Ronald J. Comeger also of Wilmington. Troopers were immediately able to obtain information that the vehicle was a white Ford Focus with Delaware tags. A vehicle matching the description was located in the area of 16th and N. Locust Street at which time it was stopped. After the vehicle came to a stop Comeger fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time later after a brief foot pursuit. Parker, who was occupying the front passenger seat was taken in to custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle produced the stolen drugs along with a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun with an extended clip.
Parker was charged with following:
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $165,000.00 secured bail.
Comeger was charged with the following:
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $93,000.00 secured bail.
