Kent County Governor’s Task Force Detectives Arrest Harrington Man for Robbery

Delaware State Police arrested 35-year-old Antonio Vilone, of Harrington, Delaware, for a robbery that occurred in Magnolia last month.

On August 8, 2023, at approximately 3:06 p.m., troopers were called to a residence on the 100 block of Riley Drive in Magnolia for a report of a robbery. Troopers contacted the 22-year-old victim and discovered an acquaintance, identified as Antonio Vilone, approached the victim while she was seated in her car. Vilone spit on the her and demanded the victim’s car keys while threatening to harm her with a hammer. The victim complied, and Vilone fled in the victim’s tan 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. Troopers searched the area for Vilone and the vehicle, but neither were located. The victim was not injured.

On September 19, 2023, members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force attempted to locate Vilone, who was wanted for multiple felony warrants, including the August 8th robbery, and had an active capias for a violation of probation. Troopers located Vilone operating a Chevrolet Silverado in the area of Unity Lane and Deep Grass Lane in Houston. Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however Vilone disregarded the police signal and evaded arrest in the ensuing vehicle pursuit. On September 20, 2023, at approximately 5:17 p.m., detectives located Vilone on the 10000 block of South Old State Road in Ellendale. Upon spotting troopers, Vilone fled on foot through a parking lot and was ultimately taken into custody after he was tased.

Vilone was transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Theft Greater than $1500 (Felony)
  • Offensive Touching
  • Terroristic Threatening

Vilone was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 for the above charges and all active warrants and capias. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $35,000 cash bond.
