Delaware State Police arrested two 15-year-old males of Wilmington, Delaware, for receiving stolen property and resisting arrest on Saturday morning.

On September 16, 2023, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Delaware State Police dispatch was notified of an armed carjacking that occurred in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The stolen vehicle, a white Porsche with New Jersey registration, was reported pinging in the area of I-95 southbound near Route 202.

A trooper contacted the Atlantic County police dispatch for additional details. The trooper was advised the suspects crashed a separate car in Atlantic County, New Jersey. The car was previously reported stolen from Smyrna, Delaware. After the crash, the suspects fled from the car, entered a residence, and participated in a home invasion with a handgun. The suspects held the victim at gunpoint, stole the keys to the white Porsche, and other personal property before fleeing toward Delaware.

Troopers set up a perimeter after the vehicle was located in the 3000 block of Old Capital Trail, Wilmington, Delaware. As troopers approached the vehicle on foot, two male suspects ran from the vehicle. The suspects ignored troopers verbal commands and fled toward the rear of a building. The two 15-year-old male suspects were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

Both suspects were taken to Troop 2, where they were individually charged with the following crimes:

  • Receiving Stolen Property Over $1500 (Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest

The juveniles were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and were committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $21,000 cash bond.
