Delaware State Police Arrest Wilmington Man for Bank Robbery- Wilmington

Wilmington– The Delaware State Police have arrested 54-year-old Brian E. Adam of Wilmington for Robbery and related charges.

The incident occurred on August 25, 2020, at approximately 10:54 a.m. when Adam entered Bank of America located at 5215 Concord Pike, Wilmington, and approached the teller. Adam passed a hand written note to the teller advising a robbery was occurring. Adam was unsuccessful with obtaining any money and fled the bank on foot. At approximately 10:58 a.m., Adam entered M&T Bank located at 5107 Concord Pike, Wilmington, and approached the teller. Adam passed a hand written note to the teller advising a robbery was occurring. The teller complied and Adam obtained an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot. No one was injured during the incidents.

Through investigative means, troopers were able to positively identify Adam as a suspect and he was located walking in Wilmington where he was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree (felony)
  • Robbery 2nd Degree (felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (2 counts- felony)

Adam was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $20,000 cash bond.
