Seaford Man Arrested on Weapon and Traffic Charges- Bridgeville

Bridgeville– The Delaware State Police have arrested 38-year-old Jason Eskridge of Seaford on weapon and traffic charges resulting from a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, at approximately 8:39 p.m., a Delaware State Trooper on patrol in the area of Seashore Highway and Tatman Farms Road, Bridgeville, observed a green Ford Focus displaying a fictitious Delaware registration plate. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle in the parking lot of the Food Lion, located at 9537 Bridgeville Center Road, Bridgeville.

The operator of the vehicle was contacted and identified as Eskridge. During the traffic stop and incident to arrest, the Trooper discovered approximately .82 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle was a CCI 38 Special/357 Magazine Shotshell and machete with a blade measuring approximately 10 inches that were concealed between the driver’s seat and center console. A computer check revealed Eskridge is prohibited from owning or possessing a deadly weapon due to previous convictions.

Eskridge was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 5 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of Firearm Ammunition by Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Failure to Have Insurance Identification
  • Failure to Transfer Registration
  • Operation of Unregistered Vehicle
  • Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia (Civil Violation)

Eskridge was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on a $10,153 unsecured bond.
