Sussex Governor’s Task Force Arrests Three Men for Drug and Weapon Offenses

Date Posted: Wednesday, December 6th, 2023

Delaware State Police arrested three men on drug and weapon charges yesterday morning following a several-month investigation.

On December 5, 2023, at approximately 6:08 a.m., members of the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and Sussex County Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on the 30000 block of Armory Road in Frankford, Delaware. This location had become a nuisance location due to the involvement of individuals in drug distribution and violent crimes. Incidents previously occurring at this location include fatal drug overdoses, assaults, and incidents involving firearms. During the search, detectives contacted three suspects, 41-year-old Douglas Wilkerson, 23-year-old Jaiheim Curtis, and 51-year-old Daniel Prouse, all of Frankford, Delaware, who were identified as individuals involved in drug distribution during the course of the investigation.

A search of the residence revealed a .45 caliber handgun, approximately 3.19 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 79.33 grams of cocaine, approximately 180 bags of suspected heroin (1.26 grams), approximately 69 doses of Ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and over $600 in suspected drug proceeds. A computer inquiry revealed that Prouse was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. Wilkerson, Curtis, and Prouse were taken into custody and transported to Troop 4, where they were charged with multiple crimes:

Curtis was charged with the offenses listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $76,000 cash bond.
