Delaware State Police have arrested a 14-year-old teenager for stealing a motor vehicle at The UPS Store yesterday evening.
On March 22, 2023, at approximately 5:45 p.m., troopers responded to The UPS Store, located at 1148 Pulaski Highway in Bear, for a stolen motor vehicle complaint. The investigation revealed that the victim left their Toyota Sienna unlocked and running while they were inside of The UPS Store. The Toyota, which contained more than $1500 in personal property, was gone when the victim returned to the parking lot. Through investigative means, troopers identified a 14-year-old teenager as the suspect.
At approximately 10:39 p.m., troopers received information from Wilmington Police Department (WPD) that they had the stolen vehicle pulled over and the 14-year-old suspect in custody in reference to their own investigation. The 14-year-old suspect was transported to WPD where troopers charged the teenager with the following DSP-related crimes:
The 14-year-old suspect was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court # 11 and committed to Ferris School, where they are currently awaiting a bail hearing.
