Troopers Arrest Pennsylvania Man on Drug and Weapon Charges Following Traffic Stop- Claymont

Claymont- Delaware State Police arrested 24-year-old Dannon Williams of Marcus Hook, PA, on drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop early Monday morning.

On November 8, 2021, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a trooper on routine patrol on Philadelphia Pike in the area of Darley Road observed a red Nissan Altima traveling northbound Philadelphia Pike with illegal window tinting. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the operator and sole occupant, Dannon Williams. A computer search revealed Williams had a capias out of the Kent County Court of Common Pleas. Subsequently, Williams was taken into custody without incident and a probable cause search was conducted. The trooper discovered approximately 31.46 grams of marijuana and a loaded Smith & Weston 9mm handgun inside of the vehicle.

Williams was transported to Troop 1 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Improper Window Tinting

Williams was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $40,500 cash bond.
