Sussex County, DE- Delaware State Police located and arrested Charles E. Moore, 32, of Harrington, who was wanted on felony criminal charges following an incident Monday evening.

On August 2, 2021, at approximately 7:16 p.m., troopers responded to Rifle Range Road, Bridgeville, for a physical altercation. During the incident, Moore physically assaulted a female acquaintance in the presence of two children and prevented the victim from calling the police before he fled the area on foot. Officers attempted to locate Moore but were unsuccessful in locating him. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated for a serious injury.

On August 3, 2021, troopers responded to a residence in the 17000 block of Loblolly Way, Milton, in an attempt to locate Moore. Moore was located in the residence and taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to arrest, Moore was found to be in possession of approximately .175 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Moore was charged with the following crimes from the incident which occurred on August 2, 2021:

  • Assault Second Degree (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (Felony)
  • Two Counts- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Two Counts- Resisting Arrest
  • Malicious Interference with Calling 911

He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post a $9,500.00 secured bond.

Moore was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for the drugs and paraphernalia he was in possession of when located by troopers. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on his own recognizance for these charges.
