Delaware State Police Arrest Wilmington Man for Attempted Robbery- Wilmington

Wilmington– The Delaware State Police have arrested 57-year-old Harold Scott of Wilmington, DE, for Attempted Robbery.

The incident occurred on July 13, 2021, at approximately 12:22 p.m., when Scott entered the Abarrotes 7 Hermanos grocery store located at 2305 West Newport Pike, Wilmington, and approached the sales counter. Scott implied he had a weapon to an employee and demanded all the money. The victim did not cooperate with demands, so the suspect fled on foot. An officer from the New Castle County Police Department was in the area of the incident and apprehended the suspect. Scott was taken into custody without incident and turned back over to troopers. No one was injured during the incident.

Scott was then transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree (Felony).

Scott was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $50,000 secured bond.
