Magnolia Man Arrested for Shooting Neighbors with BB Gun- Magnolia

Magnolia- Delaware State Police arrested Keith Rawding, 26, of Magnolia, for shooting his neighbors with a BB Gun. In addition, his 32-year-old neighbor was charged with offensive touching after a confrontation on Thursday evening.

On June 3, 2021, at approximately 5:40 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence on Lambert Drive, Magnolia, for an individual shot with a BB Gun. The investigation determined a group of juveniles were engaged in a verbal argument with Keith Rawding as they were riding their bikes past his residence. During the confrontation, he retrieved a BB Gun from his residence and fired multiple rounds at the juveniles. When two juveniles returned home on Lambert Drive, the 13-year-old male and 14-year-old male informed their father what had occurred. When learning about the incident, the 32-year-old father responded to Rawding’s residence and confronted Rawding. During the confrontation, the 32-year-old male threw numerous rocks, striking Rawding. Rawding then began firing at the male, striking him in his back and causing minor injury. The juveniles and Rawding did not require medical attention.

Rawding and the 32-year-old male were taken into custody and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 3.

Rawding was charged with the following crimes:

  •  Assault 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Three counts- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Two counts- Reckless Endangering

Rawding was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on a $30,000.00 unsecured bond.

The 32-year-old male was charged with the following crimes:

  • Offensive Touching

He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on his own recognizance.
