Troopers Arrest Dover Man for Burglary – Smyrna

Smyrna- The Delaware State Police arrested 49 year-old Paul Mast of Dover for burglary and related charges.

On August 26, 2020, at approximately 5:17 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Fairmont Court, Smyrna, in reference to a domestic dispute.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that the night prior, Mast, an acquaintance of the 41 year old victim from Smyrna, broke down her front door and physically assaulted her. During the assault, Mast took the victim’s cellphone and was inside of the residence for approximately an hour. Mast also made threats towards the victim prior to fleeing the residence.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the incident, but did not require medical attention.

On the evening of August 26, 2020, Mast turned himself in at Troop 9 where he was charged with the following:

  • Burglary First Degree – Occupied Dwelling (Felony)
  • Assault Third Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening

Mast was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on $7,000.00 unsecured bond.
