Troopers Arrest Milford Man on Felony Domestic Related Charges – Lincoln

Date Posted: Saturday, August 22nd, 2020

Lincoln- The Delaware State Police have arrested 39 year-old, Jason Evans of Milford on felony domestic-related charges.

On August 21, 2020, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to the area of Cedar Creek Road and Heritage Road, Lincoln, DE, for a reported stabbing inside of a vehicle during a domestic incident. Upon arrival, Troopers located the suspect vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway southbound Cedar Creek Road north of Jefferson Road, and made contact with a 40 year-old female victim from Milford. The victim was located outside of the vehicle bleeding with apparent lacerations to her head and face. Troopers also observed there was a male, later identified as suspect- Jason Evans, seated unconscious in the front passenger seat of the vehicle from an apparent overdose. Troopers administered Narcan to Evans, and both subjects were transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment.

Troopers learned through the investigation that the victim and Evans had a verbal dispute while traveling on the roadway. During the course of the argument, Evans began physically assaulting the victim by hitting her in the face and pulling her hair. While the argument continued, the victim was cut on her head and face by Evans with an unknown cutting instrument described as a possible razorblade.

Evans was released from the hospital, subsequently taken into custody, and transported back to Troop 7, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Assault First Degree (felony)
  • Assault Third Degree
  • Reckless Endangering
  • Breach of Release

Evans was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $63,000 cash bond.
