Date Posted: Friday, August 7th, 2020

Georgetown – A 2-year-old Georgetown boy has been found safe after an Amber Alert was issued for his abduction on July 27, 2020.

Georgetown Detectives, with assistance from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, have located 2-year-old Cristobal Lopez. Cristobal Lopez was last seen on July 25, 2020, on South Front Street in Georgetown, while in the custody of a family member. Cristobal Lopez was placed in the care of a family member after his mother-Angelina Lopez was charged with child abuse on June 5, 2020. Angelina was limited to supervised visitation with Cristobal and had arranged to stay at her cousin’s house overnight on July 25, 2020. On Sunday, July 26, 2020, the cousin had discovered that Angelina had abducted Cristobal.

Through the investigation, Georgetown Detectives, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, discovered that Cristobal had been transported from Delaware to California. On August 7, 2020, at the request of Georgetown Police, Pasadena Police Department Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on the 600 block of Los Robles Ave. in Pasadena, California. Pasadena Detectives located Cristobal safely inside the residence.

Angelina Lopez has not been located, and this investigation remains active. Angelina Lopez currently has an active warrant for felony breach of release by the Georgetown Police Department.

The Georgetown Police Department would like to thank the following law enforcement agencies for their support in locating and recovering Cristobal Lopez-

Delaware State Police, Delaware Capitol Police, Delaware Department of Justice, Homeland Security Investigations (Delaware Office), National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel Police, West Palm Beach Police, F.B.I. Baltimore-Wilmington Field Office, and the Pasadena Police Department.
