*UPDATE SUSPECT ARRESTED* Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery of a Wilmington area Dollar General- Wilmington

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested 26-year-old Ahmed E. Muhammad of Claymont, DE, for robbery and other related charges.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m., on June 9, 2020, at the Dollar General located at 2605 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. Ahmed entered the store at approximately 8:49 p.m. and remained in the business after closing. When asked to leave by an employee, he displayed a handgun and demanded money. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to Ahmed, who then fled through the rear door of the business. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

On June 14, 2020, Ahmed turned himself into Delaware State Police Troop 2 and was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery First Degree (2 counts- felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon (felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (felony)

Ahmed was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $220,000.00 cash bond.
