Dover- The Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Marquis Walker of Wilmington DE, for robbery and other related charges.

On May 4, 2020 at approximately 4:48 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to the Mifflin Meadows Apartments, Dover, in reference to a robbery complaint.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 38-year-old female who advised that she made arrangements with an unknown subject to purchase a game system console.  When attempting to make the transaction, the subject proceeded to block her path of travel, while making threatening movements to his waistband as if he was in possession of a firearm.  The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect proceeded to take off on foot.  No weapon was displayed and the victim did not sustain injury.

Another incident was reported to Troopers on May 2, 2020 in which an 18-year-old female made arrangements to meet with an unknown subject in the parking lot of the Mifflin Meadows Apartments to purchase a phone.  When the victim arrived, she met with the subject and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect proceeded to take off on foot without providing the victim with her intended purchase.  The victim did not sustain injury.

Through investigative measures, Marquis Walker was identified as the suspect in both cases.  On May 5, 2020, Troopers made contact with Walker at his relative’s residence in Mifflin Meadows Apartments.  Walker was taken into custody and initially provided Troopers with a false name.  He was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Robbery Second Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Theft
  • Criminal Impersonation

Walker was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $7000.00 secured bond.
