Rehoboth Beach– The Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Dalton Hillard, of Harrington, DE in connection with multiple thefts from motor vehicles.
On April 28, 2020, Troopers were dispatched to the Henlopen Acres Development, Rehoboth Beach, in reference to several theft from motor vehicle complaints. Upon arrival to the area, the victims reported that unknown suspects had stolen items from their unsecured vehicles sometime between the overnight hours on April 27 into April 28, 2020.
Through investigative measures, Troopers identified Dalton Hillard has one of the suspects. On April 28, 2020, contact was made with Hillard at a residence on Evans Turn Drive, Dover. Located at the residence at this time was a silver 2004 Honda CRV in which Hillard is known to primarily operate. A consent to search the vehicle was given and numerous stolen items were found from the reported theft from motor vehicle complaints in Henlopen Acres.
Hillard was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:
Hillard was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
