Date Posted: Thursday, April 16th, 2020

Laurel- The Delaware State Police have arrested 24-year-old Gideon F. Sisk 4th of Laurel, on two counts of aggravated menacing.

The incident occurred on April 15, 2020 at approximately 4:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the area of Samuel Hill Road and East Trap Pond Road, Laurel, for a report of a disorderly subject.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with 38-year-old male victim who advised that while he was traveling on Samuel Hill Road, a subject later identified as Sisk, ran out in front of his vehicle.  The victim swerved in order to avoid striking Sisk.  The victim then proceeded to stop to check on Sisk, when Sisk became disorderly and threw a beer can at his vehicle.  Sisk then threw a knife at the rear window of victim’s vehicle, causing it to shatter.  The victim was able to leave the area uninjured.

A second victim, a 16-year-old female was also traveling on Samuel Hill Road when she came in contact with Sisk.  Sisk began yelling at the victim and approached her front passenger side window.  Sisk then proceeded to stab the top of the door frame with a knife, leaving a small puncture hole.  The victim was also able to leave the area uninjured.

Troopers contacted Sisk at his residence on Samuel Hill Road, Laurel, and a odor of alcohol was detected.  Sisk was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Menacing (2 Felony counts)
  • Criminal Mischief (2 counts)
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Drunk on a Highway

Sisk was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $12301.00 cash only bond.
