*UPDATE-SUSPECT ARRESTED* Troopers Attempting To Locate Lewes Man Wanted on Domestic Assault

Lewes – The Delaware State Police have arrested 57-year-old Dale A. Doak of Lewes, who was wanted on domestic-related felony assault charges.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m., Sunday, April 12, 2020, when Doak became engaged in a verbal altercation with his 40-year-old girlfriend while at their residence in Lewes. Doak physically assaulted the female victim and took her cellphone to prevent her from calling 911. The suspect fled from the scene prior to Troopers arrival. The victim refused medical treatment for her non-life threatening injury.

On April 13, 2020, Doak turned himself in at Troop 7 and was charged with the following:

  • Assault Second Degree (felony)
  • Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications

Doak was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $5500.00 secured bond.
