Lewes– The Delaware State Police have arrested 50-year-old Jason R. Bender, of Lewes, DE after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.
The incident occurred on February 26, 2020 at approximately 1:46 p.m., when Troopers observed Bender, who is known to have a suspended/revoked license, operating a maroon Lincoln LS on westbound Lewes-Georgetown Highway. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with Bender when Troopers observed heroin baggies.
A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and the following was located:
The Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit (SDU) and Governor’s Task Force (GTF) were contacted and a search warrant for Bender’s residence located in the 34000 block of Bookhammer Landing Road, Lewes, was obtained. Upon execution of this search warrant, the following was located:
Bender was taken into custody when Troopers located further drug paraphernalia concealed on his person. Bender was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:
Bender was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $82,801 cash only bond.
