Harrington– The Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit (KDU) with the assistance of the Dover Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime and Safe Streets Units, the U.S. Marshals Task Force, and Troop 3 Patrol concluded a drug investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs.
On February 20, 2020 the joint investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs concluded with the arrest of 34-year-old Samuel L. Thorpe of Harrington. Through investigative measures it was learned that Thorpe was distributing illegal drugs. A search warrant was obtained for his residence located in the 100 block of Central Park Drive, Harrington.
As a result of the search warrant the following was located:
Thorpe was taken into custody at his residence without incident. Also present in the residence were Thorpe’s two children ages 4 and 2. A computer inquiry revealed that Thorpe was a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Thorpe was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:
Thorpe was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $137500.00 secured bond.
