Troopers Arrest Milford Man for Assault – Milford

Milford, Delaware – The Delaware State Police have arrested 45-year-old Eric F. Edge for assault and related charges.

The preliminary investigation has determined on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at approximately 5:39 p.m., troopers responded to the 8000 block of Slaughter Beach Road for an assault complaint. Upon arrival it was learned the victim, 61-year-old of Milford was visiting a friend on Slaughter Beach Road. As the victim knocked on the door to deliver a Valentine’s card, he heard gunshots. The victim looked over and observed the suspect discharged a handgun in the air as he was standing outside of the next-door residence. The victim then attempted to ask what he was doing when the suspect proceeded to run toward him jumping a fence and began striking him multiple times with an unknown object. After the assault and threatening statements from the suspect, he left the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.

The investigation later revealed the identity of the suspect as, Eric F. Edge, 45 of Milford. Troopers responded to the suspect’s residence and arrested him without incident.

Eric F. Edge was processed and charged with Assault 1st Degree and Terroristic Threatening.  Eric was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $61,000.00 cash bond.
