Date Posted: Monday, February 10th, 2020

Lewes– The Delaware State Police have arrested 30-year-old Terrance M. Weaver, after he engaged in a physical altercation with his girlfriend and attempted to strike her with his vehicle.

The incident occurred on February 9, 2020 at approximately 3:47 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the area of John J. Williams Highway, east of Angola Road in reference to a report of a physical domestic.  Upon arrival Troopers made contact with a 20-year-old female who advised that she and Terrance Weaver had engaged in a physical altercation.  The victim advised that the day prior, Weaver had struck her with his steel toed boots and chased her with a scrap piece of solid iron.  Weaver proceeded to strike the victim’s vehicle with the piece of iron, causing damage.  Weaver then entered his pickup truck and drove in the direction of the victim, attempting to strike her.  The victim was able to jump out of the way and avoid being struck.  Weaver left the residence and did not return until the next day.  Upon his return, Weaver asked to use the victim’s vehicle in which she refused.  Another physical altercation ensued and Weaver proceeded to chase the victim, while threatening to kill her.  The victim declined medical treatment.

Weaver remained on scene at the residence on John J. Williams Highway and was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (2 counts)
  • Aggravated Menacing
  • Reckless Endanger First Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Assault Third Degree
  •  Criminal Mischief
  • Offensive Touching

Weaver was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $135100.00 cash only bond.
