Troopers Arrest Millsboro Woman for Aggravated Menacing and Resisting Arrest

Date Posted: Friday, January 10th, 2020

Millsboro– The Delaware State Police have arrested 42-year-old Michelle L. Corbitt for aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and related charges following a domestic related incident.

The incident occurred on January 8, 2020 at approximately 8:05 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 27000 block of Pot of Gold Circle, Millsboro, for a report of a physical domestic.  Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with a 54-year-old male victim who was outside the residence.  The victim advised that he and his girlfriend, Michelle Corbitt, had engaged in an altercation, in which Corbitt physically assaulted him and then proceeded to grab a knife and threatened to kill him.  The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Troopers proceeded to attempt to make contact with Corbitt who was still inside the residence and refusing to answer the door.  Troopers subsequently made entry into the residence when Corbitt continued to resist arrest and pulled away from Troopers as they were attempting to handcuff her.

Corbitt was subsequently taken into custody and transported back to Troop 4 where she was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Aggravated Menacing
  • Resisting Arrest with Force or Violence (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Assault Third Degree

Corbitt was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $27000.00 secured bond.
