State Police Arrest Seaford Man on Felony Domestic Charges – Seaford

Seaford – The Delaware State Police have arrested 58 year old Brad Rippey of Seaford with Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing, and other related charges stemming from a domestic incident.

On December 27, 2019, at approximately 6:16 pm, Troopers responded to the 14000 block of County Seat Highway, Seaford for a report of a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed 58 year old Brad Rippey, of Seaford had a verbal argument with a 44 year old female inside the residence that eventually turned physical. There was another adult male (26 years old) and two children (ages 12 and 13) inside of the residence who witnessed the incident and also became involved in the altercation with Rippey. During the incident, Rippey grabbed a pump action shotgun from inside of a bedroom and cocked the weapon, causing alarm to the victims. There were no serious injuries as a result of the incident. Troopers recovered the shotgun immediately upon arriving on scene.

Subsequently, Rippey was taken into custody and transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Aggravated Menacing
  • Offensive Touching
  • Menacing
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts)

Rippey was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex County Correctional Institution on $22,200.00 secured bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
