Laurel– The Delaware State Police have arrested 21-year-old Dwayne Dashiell of Bridgeville on drug dealing charges.
On October 24, 2019, members of Sussex Drug Unit (SDU), Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and the Laurel Police Department concluded a two week investigation of drug dealing involving Dwayne Dashiell. Dashiell was wanted on a Rule 9 Warrant from Sussex County Superior Court after previously being indicted by the Sussex County Grand Jury. Dashiell was observed at the Hollybrook Apartments complex in Laurel, where he was subsequently taken into custody after attempting to flee on foot from police.
Once taken into custody, Dashiell was found to be in possession of over $800.00 in suspected drug proceeds and approximately 9.34 grams of marijuana packaged for sale.
Dashiell was charged with two counts of Drug Dealing in reference to the Rule 9 Warrants. Further charges are pending. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $5000 secured bond.
