Bear – The Delaware State Police have arrested 20 year old Amari S. Scales of Bear, in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the 7-11 convenience store, located at 1700 Pulaski Hwy., Bear.
During the original incident Scales, who was armed with a handgun, entered the business and confronted an employee at the sales counter, while a second male suspect, later identified as 22 year old Gino W. Harris of Bear, acted as a lookout, outside the entrance door. Scales demanded cash from the employee and upon receiving an undisclosed amount, fled on foot southbound on Porter Rd.
Scales turned himself in at Troop 2 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019. Harris was arrested on September 30.
Scales was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #11 on one count each of Robbery 1st Degree, Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. He was then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $42,000.00 cash bail.
