Date Posted: Monday, September 23rd, 2019

Dagsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old Scott M. Anderson in connection with a domestic related assault.

The incident occurred on September 22, 2019 at approximately 10:25 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 30000 block of Back Bay Drive, Dagsboro for a report of a domestic related assault.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 39-year-old male victim who advised that he and his brother, Scott Anderson had engaged in a verbal argument.  The argument escalated and became physical and Anderson’s wife attempted to intervene when she was struck by her husband with a car jack.  There were two children present in the residence during this incident.  The male victim did not sustain injury and the female victim sustained minor injuries and declined medial treatment at the scene.

Anderson had fled the residence in a vehicle prior to police arrival and was later located outside in the area of the 30000 block of  E. Lagoon Road, Dagsboro.  A computer inquiry revealed that Anderson did not have a valid license.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Assault Second Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts)
  • Offensive Touching
  • Driving Without a Valid License

Anderson was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $72,020.00 cash only bond.
