Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrests-Millsboro

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested two suspects after a search warrant led to the discovery of drugs.

On September 18, 2019, Troopers concluded a one month drug investigation into the distribution of heroin at a residence located in the 26000 block of Bay Farm Road, Millsboro. With the assistance of the Sussex Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and the Sussex Drug Unit (SDU), a search and seizure warrant was executed at the Bay Farm Road residence. Upon arrival, officers located two subjects inside the residence, 67-year-old Gregory Woudenberg, of Millsboro and 55-year-old Richard Burns of Millsboro. A computer inquiry revealed that both Wodenberg and Burns are residents of the Bay Farm Road residence.

A search of the residence was conducted and the following was recovered:

  • 143 bags of heroin (approximately 1.001 grams)
  • 13 1/2 narcotic pills

Woudenberg and Burns were taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 7 where they were charged with the following:

Gregory Woudenberg:

  • Possession with Intent to manufacture, deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity
  • Maintaining a Drug Property
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Woudenberg was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $13,400 cash only bond.

Richard Burns:

  • Possession with Intent to manufacture, deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Possession of  a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Burns was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $12,500 unsecured bond.
