Rehoboth Beach- The Delaware State Police have arrested 41-year-old Tyshi O. Hazzard of Rehoboth Beach, DE in connection with an assault.
The incident occurred on September 16, 2019, at approximately 3:40 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 37000 block of Burton Village Avenue, Burton Village, for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 30-year-old female victim who advised that as she was walking back to her residence from the dumpster area, her ex-boyfriend, Hazzard had approached and attacked her. The victim reported that she was struck by Hazzard several times and strangled.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hazzard who is currently on a ban list for the Burton Village Community, fled the scene prior to police arrival. He was located a short time later hiding under a mobile home nearby. Hazzard was taken into custody without further incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:
Hazzard was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $51001.00 cash only bond.
