Superintendent Colonel William Crotty
Wilmington – The Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force with the assistance of officers from Probation and Parole as well as agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have arrested nine individuals on numerous drug related charges as a result of a month long investigation.
Beginning in early August 2019 the Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force (GTF), which is comprised of Troopers and Probation & Parole Officers, began receiving numerous complaints from community members regarding suspected drug activity in the neighborhoods along the St James Church Road corridor in Wilmington. Based on these complaints an investigation was initiated. The investigation soon began to focus on two specific residences, where illegal drug activity was occurring. One being in the 700 block of Stanton-Christiana Rd., and the second at a residence in the 4800 block of Paulson Drive.
As the investigation progressed, it was also determined that several subjects involved in the illegal drug activity were also violating federal immigration laws. It was at this point that agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security joined the investigation.
On September 3, 2019 a search warrant was executed at the Stanton-Christiana Rd. location and on the following day, September 4, a second search warrant was executed at the Paulson Dr. address.
