Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrests-Dagsboro

Dagsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested three suspects after a search warrant led to the discovery of drugs.

On August 13, 2019 members of the Sussex Drug Unit (SDU) concluded a one month investigation into the matter of 28-year-old Keion R. Sturgis of Dagsboro.  With the assistance of Sussex Governor’s Task Force (GTF), a search and seizure warrant was executed at Sturgis’s residence located in the 30000 block of Iron Branch Road, Dagsboro.  Upon arrival, detectives located several subjects inside the residence including Sturgis and his mother, the primary resident, 47-year-old Lynnell D. Drummond, and 36-year-old Lamar D. Morris of Selbyville, DE.  There were also three juveniles located within the residence, ages 17, 12 and 11 years old.

Detectives recovered 156 bags of heroin which Sturgis attempted to discard in the toilet.  Sturgis also possessed approximately .47 grams of powder cocaine and over $2700.00 in suspected drug proceeds. Also recovered from inside the residence was approximately .16 grams of powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Sturgis, Drummond, and Morris were transported back to Troop 5 where they were charged with the following:

Keion Sturgis:

  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3 counts)

Sturgis was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $15,500.00 cash only bond.

Lynnell Drummond:

  • Maintaining a Drug Property
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3 counts)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Drummond was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $6500.00 cash only bond.

Lamar Morris:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Morris was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $1000.00 unsecured bond.
