Lewes– The Delaware State Police have arrested a Lewes man following an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs.
The Delaware State Police, Troop 7 began an investigation into 26-year-old Cody Christine when they received information that he was distributing crack cocaine and heroin in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach areas.
On April 25, 2019, at approximately 4:46 p.m., Troopers observed a black Kia Rio traveling above the posted speed limit on Lewes Georgetown Highway in which Christine was a passenger. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver and Christine.
During the course of the traffic stop a K-9 scan was conducted which yielded a positive alert for the presence of a narcotic. Further investigation led to the discovery of crack cocaine and heroin on Christine’s person. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic violation for speeding and released.
Christine was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 when additional bundles of heroin were located. Probation and Parole were contacted due to Christine being on probation. A subsequent search of Christine’s residence in the unit block of Bristol Way, Lewes was conducted and additional bags of heroin were recovered. In total, approximately 10.92 grams of heroin packaged in approximately 1560 individual bags were recovered along with approximately 1.14 grams of crack cocaine.

Christine was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $62,503.00 secured bond.
