Millsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Felton man after he failed to stop and was found in possession of drugs.
The incident occurred on April 22, 2019 at approximately 12:21 a.m., when a Trooper observed a GMC Yukon traveling above the posted speed limit on John J. Williams Highway in the area of Maryland Camp Road. A traffic stop was initiated when the driver failed to comply. The Trooper observed the driver throw objects out of the window. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the parking lot of Mountaire. Contact was made with the driver, identified as 38-year-old Michael Dennis, when an odor of alcohol was detected and a DUI investigation ensued. Dennis was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
The items thrown out of the window were recovered and discovered to be approximately 2.62 grams of cocaine. Dennis was also found in possession of over $3,500 in suspected drug proceeds.
Dennis was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:
Dennis was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,353.00 secured bond.
