*Update* Burglary Suspect Identified and Arrested-Georgetown

Georgetown- The Delaware State Police have identified and arrested the suspect, 40-year-old Dwayne Sudduth of Georgetown who was wanted in connection with a residential burglary.

On March 13, 2019, at approximately 12:56 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 24000 block of Lewes-Georgetown Highway for a report of a burglary.  It was discovered that a suspect had forced entry into the rear of the residence.  Once inside, the suspect removed several items and fled the scene.

Through investigative measures, Troopers identified the suspect as Dwayne Sudduth.  On March 18, 2019, Sudduth was taken into custody at a residence in the 25000 block of  Silver Oak Drive, Georgetown.  Sudduth initially tried to flee on foot from police and provided a false name.  He was subsequently taken into custody and transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

  • Burglary Second Degree
  • Theft Under $1500
  • Criminal Impersonation
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Criminal Mischief

Sudduth was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution due to being a fugitive from another state.
