Magnolia– The Delaware State Police have arrested a Magnolia man after he physically assaulted a victim.
The incident occurred on March 18, 2019, at approximately 10:16 p.m., when Troopers where dispatched to the unit block of E. Walnut Street, Magnolia for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with the victim, a 49-year-old male from Magnolia. The victim advised that he was at his friends residence when a subject that he was unfamiliar with entered the house and began arguing with him. The victim proceeded to go outside, when the subject followed and a physical altercation ensued. The subject then bit the victim causing him serious injury to his hand. The suspect took off on a bike prior to the arrival of the police.
Troopers were able to locate the suspect on his bike in the area. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Lionel Thompson, was taken into custody without incident. Thompson was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with Assault Second Degree (Felony).
The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with a serious injury to his hand.
Thompson was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $4,000.00 unsecured bond.
