Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest- Magnolia

Magnolia– The Delaware State Police have arrested a Magnolia man after a search warrant led to the discovery of drugs.

The incident occurred on March 14, 2019 at approximately 12:00 p.m., when members of the Kent County Drug Unit (KDU) and the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Peachtree Run Road in the matter of 39-year-old Michael D. Cox. Upon execution of the search warrant, Cox was taken into custody without incident and two children were located inside the residence.

A search of the residence led to the seizure of the following:

  • 285.25 Grams of Marijuana
  • 126 THC Dosage Units
  • (2) 1000 Mg “Lean” Bottles
  • (2) 100 Mg Promethazine with codeine Bottles
  • 22 Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills
  •  8 Oxycodone 15 Mg Pills
  • Over $1,000.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Michael Cox was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following.

  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity
  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Cox was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $45,500.00 unsecured bond.
