Kent County, Delaware – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Smyrna man for a meth lab operation at a residence in Clayton.
On October 3, 2018 a multi-agency made up of the Delaware State Police, Harrington Police Department, Capitol Police Department and Probation and Parole conducted a warrant roundup initiative in Kent County. During the initiative, information was received in regards to a wanted subject being in the area of Lion Hope Road, Clayton, Kent County Delaware.
Upon the arrival, troopers attempted to contact wanted subject David L Moser, 55 of Smyrna, who fled from troopers on foot into a wooded area. Troopers searched the area and were able to locate Moser, who was then taken into custody without further incident. During the investigation it was learned a meth lab operation and components in the manufacturing of a one pot meth lab was used at another residence on Lion Hope Road, Clayton, Delaware.
Members of the Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit (KDU) and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) arrived on scene to assist with the investigation. KDU and DNREC were able to confirm that the materials commonly used and components located were being utilized to manufacture meth and secured the residence. No evacuations were ordered as it was determined that there was no immediate hazard to nearby residents.
Consent to search the property on Lion Hope Road was received. During the search methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was discovered. It was discovered at the initial residence were three handguns, various ammunition, over 12 grams of meth and several components to make methamphetamine were seized.
David L. Moser, 55 of Smyrna, was transported to Troop 3, Camden where he was charged with the following;
David L. Moser was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $48,500.00 secured bond.
