Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Incident-Dover

Dover- The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired complaint that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on January 30, 2019 at approximately 10:23 p.m. when Troopers were dispatched to the 3600 block of S. Little Creek Road in reference to a shots fired complaint. It was determined that shots had been directed towards the residence and multiple rounds made entry into the occupied residence.

Inside the residence during this incident was a 47-year-old male, 46-year-old female, 21-year-old male, 20-year-old male, 19 year-old male and a 12-year-old female.  None of the occupants sustained injury as a result of this incident.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Delaware State Police Troop 4 Host 2018 “Year In Review”-Georgetown

 -The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Leadership will be hosting a meeting to provide the public with its 2018 “Year in Review”.

The event is scheduled for Friday, February 8, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, located at 21911 Rudder Lane, Georgetown.  The conversation will focus on providing the community with a better understanding of how Troop 4 functions and the duties and responsibilities those Troopers handle on a daily basis.  Topics will include a review of the rates of crime, crashes and investigative clearances in Central and Southern Sussex County in 2018, and how enforcement plans have adjusted for 2019.

The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. It is a great opportunity for the community to exchange ideas for maximum public safety where we live, work, and travel.

*Update* Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance Locating Suspect Still At Large-Laurel

Laurel- The Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate 31-year-old Jamere D. Knox who is wanted in connection with an attempted burglary.

The incident occurred on December 17, 2018 at approximately 7:56 p.m., when Troopers responded to a residence in the 34000 block of Columbia Road for a report of a burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that 31-year-old Jamere D. Knox of Salisbury, MD (no photo available) had arrived at the residence with several subjects.  Knox proceeded to attempt to kick in the front door to the residence and threaten his ex-girlfriend.  During this incident there was a 23-year-old female, 49-year-old female, and 3-year-old child inside of the residence.  Prior to the Troopers arrival, Knox fled the area.  There were no reports of injuries.

Troopers have been unable to locate Knox who is currently wanted out of Troop 5 for the following:

  • Attempted to Commit Burglary Second Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Disorderly Conduct

*Update 2* Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance In Locating Shooting Suspect-Seaford

Seaford-  The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate 32-year-old Teron West who is wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in November 2018.

The incident occurred on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at approximately 11:57 a.m. when troopers were dispatched to a residence located in the 11000 block of Park Drive for a report of shots fired.

Further investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred between two male subjects and during the argument several shots were fired at a vehicle leaving the scene. All of the subjects involved in the incident fled prior to Troopers arrival.

Through investigative measures, 32-year-old Teron West of Seaford was developed as a suspect.  Troopers have been unable to locate West who currently has active warrants for the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Reckless Endanger First Degree
  • Aggravated Menacing

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit.  If anyone has any information in reference to whereabouts of Teron West, they are asked to please contact Troop 4, Detective D. Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Wanted Suspect

Sussex County– The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate the pictured suspect who is wanted in connection with numerous charges.

Destiny R. Thomas, 26 of Ocean View is currently wanted out of Troops 4, 5, and 7. Thomas is also known to go by the name Katelyn Hill.

Troop 4 charges include:

  •  Burglary Second Degree Dwelling
  •  Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Theft Under $1500
  • Criminal Mischief  Under $1000

Troop 5 charges include:

  • Criminal Impersonation

Troop 7 charges include:

  • Burglary Second Degree Dwelling
  • Theft Under $1500 Where a Victim is 62 Years of Age or Older (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief

Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery – New Castle

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a New Castle area Burger King that took place Sunday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:37 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Burger King, located at 1530 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle. A suspect entered the business brandishing a handgun and proceeded directly into an “employees only” area of the business where he confronted two employees and demanded money from the safe. The victims complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled the business on foot in an unknown direction. Neither employee were injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing all dark clothing, to include a covering over his face and in possession of a handgun.

*Update* Suspect Identified In Shoplifting Turned Robbery – North Wilmington

Wilmington (19803) – The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Brandon Webster of Townsend, who is wanted in connection with a shoplifting turned robbery in which an employee was bit.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:59 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Target department store, located at 1050 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington. Webster was observed by employees exiting the business with merchandise which he had not paid for. When the employee made contact with Webster outside the business and attempted to recover the merchandise, he was bit on the hand. Webster then fled on foot towards Naaman’s Road. The employee was treated at an area hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

Webster currently has active warrant out of Troop 1 for  Assault First Degree and Robbery Second Degree.

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery of cigarettes from a north Wilmington convenience store that took place early Wednesday morning and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the pictured suspect.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:55 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Wawa located at 601 Naaman’s Road, when a male suspect entered the business and proceeded purchase cigarettes. As the clerk was completing the transaction the suspect grabbed the bag containing the cigarettes, while threatening to “shoot the place up”. The suspect repeated the threatening statement multiple times before exiting the business with the property.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a blue coat over a black hooded sweatshirt and light colored pants.

He was last seen fleeing the parking lot in a tan Chevrolet Camaro which was occupied by a second unknown subject.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a blue coat over a black hooded sweatshirt and light colored pants.
