Wilmington – The Delaware State Police have identified Michael Schools, 35, as the subject responsible a purse snatching that occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 in the parking lot of the Greenville Crossing Shopping Center located at 4011 Kennett Pike, Wilmington. A 77 year old female was loading groceries in to her vehicle when Schools approached her from behind, snatched her purse and knocked her to the ground.

Active warrants are on file charging Schools with Robbery 1st Degree.

Troopers Arrest Man for 4th Offense DUI After Crash

Rehoboth Beach- The Delaware State Police have arrested a man from Easton Maryland for his 4th offense DUI after he was involved in a crash.

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at approximately 7:53 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to Coastal Highway north of Old Landing Road for a report of a crash.  Upon arrival Troopers learned that three vehicles were involved.  It was determined that a Volvo XC70 struck the rear of a Toyota Rav 4 that was stopped in traffic, which led to the Rav 4 striking the rear of a Lotus Exige that was also stopped. A 21-year-old female was a rear seat passenger in the Rav 4. She was transported to the Beebe Medical Center where she was treated and released.  There were no other reports of injuries.

The operator of the Volvo XC70, 56-year-old Francis P. Mcnulty was contacted at the scene when an odor of alcohol was detected and a DUI investigation ensued.  A computer check revealed that Mcnulty had three previous DUI arrests making this his fourth offense.  He was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • 4th Offense Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol
  • Vehicular Assault Second Degree

Mcnulty was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $5,000.00 secured bond.

State Police Conducting Death Investigation-Millsboro

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police are currently conducting a death investigation after a woman was found deceased in a residence.

The investigation began on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at approximately 10:33 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 26000 block of  Schooner Lane, Millsboro, Rehoboth Shores development for a check on the welfare complaint.  Upon entry to the residence, Troopers discovered a female victim deceased.  There was no obvious signs of forced entry to the residence.

The victim has been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.  The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

*Update Name Released* Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash-Magnolia

Magnolia– The Delaware State Police have identified the name of the individual who was killed in a crash on Friday, October 19, 2018 on Irish Hill Road (SR 31) at the intersection of Lexington Mill Road (CR 378) as 62-year-old Paul J. Schiller of Felton.

The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

*UPDATE-Suspects Identified* Troopers Investigating Shoplifting Turned Robbery – North Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a robbery that occurred at approximately 7:43 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Target department store, located at 1050 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington. The suspects loaded a shopping cart with merchandise and then proceeded to exit the store without rendering payment. When a store employee confronted them at the exit doors they pepper sprayed him and then fled into the parking lot.

The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Diamond Negron of Wilmington and 17-year-old Lanasha Austin of Wilmington.

Both Negron and Austin have active warrants out of Troop 1 for Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree.

*Update* Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash-Magnolia

Magnolia- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred earlier this afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:13 p.m., on Friday, October 19, 2018 when a Ford DART Transit Bus was traveling westbound on Irish Hill Road approaching Lexington Mill Road. A Honda Motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Irish Hill Road towards the same intersection.  The DART bus began to turn left onto Lexington Mill Road, directly into the path of the motorcycle. The Motorcycle collided with the front of the DART bus, where both vehicles came to a final rest.

The operator of the Motorcycle, a 62-year-old male from Felton was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Identification is pending notification of next of kin.

The operator of the DART bus, a 55-year-old male from Smyrna was properly restrained and transported to the Bayhealth Kent General hospital with minor injuries.  There were no other occupants on the bus at the time of the crash.

Irish Hill Road (SR 31) at the intersection of Lexington Mill Road (CR 378) was closed for approximately 4 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

This crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

Wanted Subject Escapes Courthouse-Georgetown

Georgetown- The Delaware State Police and Delaware Capitol Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a subject after he escaped from the Sussex County Courthouse, located at 1 The Circle, Georgetown this afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 when 24-year-old Ronald N. Stow escaped from the custody of the Delaware Capitol Police while being detained for the Delaware State Police.  At the time of the escape, Stow was wanted on criminal warrants out of Troop 7 for Burglary 2nd degree, Unlawful Use of a Payment Card and Theft from a victim over 62 years of age.

The Delaware Capitol Police currently have an active warrant for Stow on Escape 3rd charges.

Stow was last seen operating a black Ford Focus with Delaware registration 376330, traveling eastbound on S. Bedford Street, Georgetown.

Ronald N. Stow is described as a white male, 5’07” tall, 103 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
