Lewes – The Delaware State Police are attempting to locate 57-year-old Dale A. Doak of Lewes, who is wanted on domestic-related felony assault charges.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m., Sunday, April 12, 2020, when Doak became engaged in a verbal altercation with his 40-year-old girlfriend while at their residence in Lewes. Doak physically assaulted the female victim and took her cellphone to prevent her from calling 911. The suspect fled from the scene prior to Troopers arrival. The victim refused medical treatment for her non-life threatening injury.

Active warrants are currently on file at Troop 7 charging Doak with:

• Assault Second Degree (felony)
• Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications

Dover- On Saturday, April 11, 2020, at approximately 6:18 p.m., Troopers responded to the Capitol Park community, Dover, for reports of shots fired in the area of Presidents Dr.

The investigation determined three black male suspects wearing masks, shot at a vehicle traveling on Presidents Dr. at North Governors Blvd. The individuals fired multiple rounds at the vehicle which was later found unoccupied with multiple bullet holes. As a result of the incident, a residence was also struck.

Magnolia– The Delaware State Police have arrested Chad Chapek, 30, and his girlfriend, Rebecca Lonski, 29, both of Magnolia in connection with recent residential construction burglaries.

Beginning in the first week of March 2020, the Delaware State Police Troop 3 began to experience a rash in thefts and burglaries from homes under construction in the neighborhood of Chestnut Ridge, Magnolia. The investigation revealed during the overnight hours, typically on the weekend, a dark colored truck with loud exhausts would enter the area of the homes under construction and remove building materials.

On April 11, 2020 Troopers located a vehicle in the area matching the description of the suspect vehicle at a residence under construction. The male subject, later identified as Chapek, exited the vehicle wearing a head lamp light and was observed searching the property. Upon returning to the vehicle, he was taken into custody without incident. Also in the vehicle during the incident was Lonski.

Through further investigation, evidence was produced linking Chapek and Lonski to the incidents. Both subjects were transported to Troop 3 where they were charged and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court.

Chapek and Lonski were charged with the following crimes:

• Burlgary 3^rd Degree (3 counts)
• Theft Less than $1500.00 (5 counts)
• Criminal Mischief (2 counts)
• Criminal Trespass 3^rd Degree (4 counts)
• Attempt to Theft Greater than $1500.00
• Criminal Mischief Less than $5000.00

They were each arraigned and Released on their own Recognizance.

Newark – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Newark man for a strong armed robbery that took place on April 10, 2020 in the parking lot of Royal Farms, located at 1551 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, yesterday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:21 a.m. as the 71 year old victim was sitting in her vehicle parked in the rear of Royal Farms parking lot. The defendant later identified as 20 year old, Knowledge Thomas of Newark, approached the victim’s vehicle on the driver side in an attempt to get her to roll down her window.  The victim did not comply and Thomas walked to the passenger side of the vehicle and opened the unlocked front passenger door. Thomas reached in and grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle ensued causing an injury to the victim’s upper extremity. Thomas ultimately fled with the purse on foot. The victim refused medical treatment for her injury.

On April 11, 2020 at a little after 10:00 a.m., a Trooper on routine patrol in the area of Royal Farms, observed a subject fitting the description of Thomas’ exiting the subdivision of Sparrow Run on foot. Troopers attempted to make contact with Thomas who fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Thomas was apprehended and transported to Troop 2 where he was arrested and charged with Robbery 1^st Degree (felony) and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court and was released on $20,100.00 unsecured bond.

Greenwood- The Delaware State Police have arrested a 35-year-old, Roy G. Murray 3rd of Greenwood, for attempted burglary and related charges.

The incident occurred on April 8, 2020 at approximately 11:27 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Hickman Road, Greenwood, for an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed Murray was located hiding outside of the residence by one of the victims wearing camo clothing and a face mask. As a second victim exited the residence, Murray confronted the victim with a bow and arrow by pulling the bow back and aiming it at the victim. Both victims fled back into the residence and were able to close and lock the door behind them. Murray followed and attempted to gain entry by kicking the door several times before fleeing the area on his bicycle. Also inside the residence during the incident were two other individuals, including a child.

Troopers searching the area discovered a male matching the description of Murray riding a bicycle. The suspect failed to stop on command and after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody. In his possession when taken into custody, Murray had a knife concealed in his pocket and the bow was recovered next to Murray.

None of the victims in this incident knew Murray and no one was injured during the incident.

Murray was transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:

• Attempted Burglary First Degree (felony)
• Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (2 counts)
• Aggravated Menacing (felony)
• Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (felony)
• Resisting Arrest
• Criminal Trespass Third Degree

He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $152,501 cash bond.

Newark– The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a Newark area residence late Monday night.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2020, Troopers responded to the 2000 block of Sunset Lake Rd. in Newark in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they located a 33 year old male inside the residence who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his torso. He was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he is being treated for the gunshot wound.

The initial investigation has determined the male victim was home alone when he heard a knock at the door. When he opened the door he observed two male subjects standing outside the residence and one shot him.

The only suspect information known at this time is the one suspect is believed to be white male and the other is believed to be a black male. No clothing or vehicle description is known at this time.

Felton– The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired complaint that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on April 6, 2020 at approximately 11:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Barney Jenkins Road, Felton for reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, numerous shell casings were located lying in the middle of the roadway.  It was also discovered that a residence had been struck numerous times by gun fire, and appeared that two rounds had entered through the front of the house.  Contact was made with three residents who were inside the house during this incident, all who were uninjured.

Millsboro– The Delaware State Police have charged three suspects after they falsely reported a shooting incident.

The incident occurred on April 6, 2020 at approximately 2:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the area of Lynch Road and Daisey Road, Millsboro, for a report of shots being fired.  Upon arrival, three individuals were located inside of a vehicle, including; a 22-year-old female of Laurel, 18-year-old Brandon Jones of Selbyville, DE and 20-year-old Tycere S. Bryant of Laurel.  Bryant was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound.  The initial statements provide to the police by all three individuals, indicated that a vehicle had driven by them and fired a shot as Bryant was standing outside the vehicle where he was subsequently struck.  Bryant was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland, with non-life threatening injuries.  Also present in the vehicle during this incident was the female’s one year old child who did not sustain injury.

Further investigation revealed that the shooting had occurred with inside the vehicle.  All three individuals later changed their statements indicating that there was handgun inside of the vehicle when it was accidently discharged by Jones and struck Bryant.  A .45 caliber handgun was later located behind Bayshore Church near a ditch off of Lynch’s Road.

Both Jones and the 22-year-old female where transported back to Troop 4 where they were charged with the following:

Brandon Jones:

• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited Causes Injury or Death of Another Person
• Assault Second Degree
• Reckless Endanger First Degree (3 counts)
• Making False Statement/Filing False Report

Jones was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $120000.00 cash only bond.

The 22-year-old female was charged with Making False Statement/Filing False Report (misdemeanor).  She was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $1000.00 unsecured bond.

Upon Bryant’s release from the hospital, he will be charged with the following:

• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
• Making False Statement/Filing False Report

The incident occurred on April 6, 2020 at approximately 2:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the area of Lynch Road and Daisey Road, Millsboro, for a report of shots being fired.

There is heavy police activity in the area and motorist should expect delays and seek alternate routes of travel.
