Millsboro- The Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit (SDU) and the Millsboro Police Department concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of 35-year-old Bernardo McKinney of Millsboro, DE.
On November 19, 2019, SDU and the Millsboro Police Department concluded a month long drug investigation into the matter of Bernardo McKinney. Through investigations, it was learned that McKinney was distributing illegal narcotics in the Millsboro area. A search and seizure warrant was obtained for McKinney’s residence located on Kendall Street, Cloverleaf Apartments, Millsboro, DE. McKinney was taken into custody without incident in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts in Millsboro. Upon arrival to the residence, McKinney’s 16-year-old son was located inside the residence. During the search of the residence, the following was located and seized:
- 186 bags of heroin (approximately 1.302 grams)
- Approximately 14.84 grams of powder cocaine
- Approximately 4.78 grams of marijuana
- Over $1900 in suspected drug proceeds
- Drug paraphernalia
McKinney was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:
- Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance
- Possesses a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 quantity
- Possesses a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 quantity
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Unlawfully Dealing With a Child in Place Where Narcotics or Dangerous Drug Activity
- Possession of Marijuana
McKinney was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $39401.00 unsecured bond.
