*Update* Troopers On-Scene Of Helicopter Crash-Bridgeville

Bridgeville, Delaware- The Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a helicopter crash which occurred at the Evans Produce Farm located at 9843 Seashore Highway east of Bridgeville, Delaware.

The preliminary investigation thus far has determined the crash occurred today, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at approximately 1:37 p.m. when a 1981 Enstrom FA28C with approximately 15 gallons fuel on board took off from behind the Evans Farms Fall Festival. The pilot, 62 of Bridgeville, reported the aircraft lost power as he cleared the irrigation and electrical lines and proceeded east approximately 300 yards before making a hard landing into the adjacent soybean field.

There were four people on the helicopter including the pilot. There were no injuries reported.  The three passengers included a female passenger, 41 of Lewes and two children 7-year-old and 4-year-old were transported by Bridgeville EMS to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for precautionary reasons.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were contacted and are en-route to the scene. This is currently being investigated the Federal Aviation Administration.
