**Update** State Police Investigating Fatal Crash West of Pearsons Corner

Hartly – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred early this morning.

The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday December 27, 2016 as Elmer C. Jeronimo-Gonzalez, 29 of Marydel, Maryland, was operating a 2001 Toyota Tundra pickup truck westbound on Halltown Road (SR8) approaching Brittany Lane.  For unknown reasons, the truck drove off the north edge of the roadway and struck a tree with its front bumper.

Elmer Jeronimo-Gonzalez, who was not properly restrained, was transported by EMS to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he died a short time later.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this case.  SR8 between Hartly Road (SR44) and Brittney Lane was closed for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

State Troopers Investigating Robbery of Lincoln Area Store

Lincoln- Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery of a Lincoln area store that occurred early last night.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m., Monday December 26, 2016, as two male suspects, one armed with an unknown type handgun, entered King’s Market,  located at 20639 Fleatown Road. The suspects approached two store employees and demanded cash.  The victims complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then exited the store and fled in an unknown direction.  The clerks were not injured.

The suspects were described as black males wearing all dark colored clothing and masks (No further clothing or physical description).  One subject was armed with an unknown type handgun.

**Update #2- Arrest Made** Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian – New Castle

New Castle – Delaware State Police  have arrested an 18 year old New Castle man and charged him in connection with the fatal hit and run crash which killed a 54 year old woman on Saturday, December 24, 2016.

Troopers arrested Bradford Pollock on Sunday, December 25, 2016, after they were called to respond to a residence located in the unit block of Prangs Lane, Rambleton Acres, New Castle, in reference to a vehicle in the driveway which had front end damage to it. Upon their arrival, troopers located a white Chevrolet Impala that had front end damage to its right front area. Further examination of the vehicle revealed evidence linking the car to the crash. Troopers then made contact with Pollock inside of the home and were subsequently able to identify his as the operator of the Impala which struck and killed Lisa Bolden, 54, on Christiana Road just east of East Edinburgh Drive on December 24th.

Bradford Pollock was then transported to Troop 2 where he was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Collision Resulting in Death and Driving Without a Valid License. He was arraigned at JP Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in default of $6,100.00 secured bail.

New Castle – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal hit and run crash that occurred last night involving a pedestrian.

The incident occurred around 7:55 p.m. Saturday December 24, 2016 as Lisa M. Bolden, 54 of New Castle, was crossing the westbound lanes of Christiana Road (SR273) immediately east of the intersection with East Edinburgh Drive.  An unknown type vehicle was traveling westbound on SR273 in an unknown travel lane approaching the intersection with East Edinburgh Drive when the right front area of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.  After the collision, the pedestrian was thrown from the car into the middle of the north end of the intersection, while the vehicle did not stop and continued westbound on SR273 to an unknown location.

Lisa Bolden, who was wearing dark-colored clothing and not wearing any reflective material, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based upon vehicle debris located at the scene, the vehicle was white in color and should have, at a minimum, damage to the right front corner area.  Witness accounts describe the vehicle to be a four door sedan and possibly from a foreign manufacturer.

Detectives Arrest Two in Frankford Home Invasion

Frankford – The Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit has arrested two people involved in an early Saturday morning home invasion near Frankford.

The incident occurred Saturday December 24, 2016 around 6:30 a.m. as a 19-year old male victim and a 18-year-old male victim were sleeping in separate bedrooms and were suddenly awoken by three suspects forcefully breaking into the house through the front door.  The male victims were confronted by the suspects armed with hammers and were dragged out of their beds and into the living room while the suspects search the house.  Upon seeing car lights, the trio fled the residence and drove away in a silver Chevrolet Suburban.  The suspects fled with a large metal grinder and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Further investigation revealed two of the suspect’s identities to be Theodore Wilson, 21 of Dagsboro, and Kevin H. Jesneck, 38 of Ocean View.  Troopers responded to Jesneck’s residence where him and Wilson were taken into custody without incident and the large metal grinder that was reported stolen was recovered.

Theodore Wilson and Kevin Jesneck were transported back to Troop 4 where they were arrested for Home Invasion, Conspiracy 2nd, Offensive Touching, and Criminal Mischief.  They were both arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $15,000.00 secured bond.  No photos are available for either subject.

The third suspect involved in the incident has yet to be identified and the investigation is on-going by detectives.  The victims were uninjured in the incident.

Troopers Investigate Gas Station Robbery – New Castle

New Castle – Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a New Castle area Shell gas station that occurred last night.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 24, 2016, as a male suspect entered the Shell gas station located at 299 Christiana Road. The suspect confronted a male employee who was standing behind the sales counter. He then demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. The suspect then exited the business and fled toward the rear of the business. The clerk was uninjured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’10”-6’00” tall, 150-180 lbs., last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and pants, and a mask over his face (No further physical or clothing description available).  No weapon was displayed.

**Update** State Police Investigating Fatal Crash Near Houston

Houston – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred early Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. Thursday December 22, 2016 as Samuel R. Ellers 3rd, 20 of Harrington, was operating a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck westbound on Williamsville Road approaching Hunting Quarter Road. Ellers failed to negotiate a moderate right curve and traveled off the south side of the roadway into a small ditch where it struck a culvert, propelling the truck airborne into a mailbox.  The vehicle then struck a tree with its left side driver’s door and continued a short distance before striking another tree with its driver’s side door.  The pick up re-entered the roadway and continued westbound where it came to a stop in a ditch on the south edge of the roadway facing in a northwesterly direction.

Samuel Ellers, who was properly restrained and the sole occupant of the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  Speed may have been a contributing factor in this case.  Williamsville Road at Hunting Quarter Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
