*UPDATE-OPERATER DIES* Troopers Investigating Serious Motor Vehicle Crash – Greenville

Greenville – Delaware State Police have identified the operator of a 2017 Jeep Patriot involved in a crash which occurred on Friday September 29, 2017 as Anthony J. Penna, 17 of Hockessin. Penna who was initially admitted to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, has died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash.

The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into the crash. No charges will be filed.

Dover Man Arrested for Sexual Solicitation

 

Camden – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Dover man after an investigation revealed he was sending sexually related text messages to a teen.

The investigation into the incident began on September 29, 2017 after a 17-year-old female Caesar Rodney High School student contacted a school employee about an adult male that was sending her text messages that were sexual in nature.

The male, who was identified as Dale S. Street, 35 of Dover, began texting the student on September 26, 2017 and even met her one time alone in the parking lot of the John S. Charlton School where he is employed.

Dale Street was arrested on Tuesday October 3, 2017 and charged with Sexual Solicitation of a Child Under 18.  He was arraigned at JP2 and released on $20,000.00 unsecured bond.

Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victim, only limited information will be released.

State Police on the Scene of a Barricaded Subject in Lincoln

Lincoln Barricade

Lincoln The Delaware State Police are currently operating in the 18000 block of Johnson Road for a report of a possibly armed barricaded subject located in a residence.

The incident began at approximately 1:03 a.m. this morning, Wednesday October 4, 2017, when troopers were called to the residence to check on the welfare of an unstable male subject alone in the house.

Troopers continue to assess the situation with no further details available at this time.

Several residences in the area of the incident have been evacuated as a precaution. Johnson Road is currently closed between DuPont Boulevard (US113) and North Old State Road.  Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel.

This is a preliminary release of information with additional updates as information is received.

Traffic Stop Near Toll Plaza Nets Heroin

Dover – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Pennsylvania man for heroin possession following a traffic stop.

The incident occurred on Tuesday October 3, 2017 around 1:08 p.m. when a trooper on patrol clocked a white passenger car traveling above the posted 25 mph speed limit approaching the toll plaza on SR1 southbound.  A traffic stop was conducted and as the trooper made contact with the operator and sole occupant of the car, identified as Vincent Clark, 37 of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the interior of the car.  A computer inquiry revealed Clark’s license was suspended.  Upon exiting the car, a search was conducted and troopers located 11,115 bags (77.805 grams) of heroin and .16 grams of marijuana.

Vincent Clark was transported back to Troop 3 in Camden where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity (Heroin), Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Without a Valid License, and Speeding.  He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $40,302.00 secured bond.

**Update-Victim Identified** State Police Investigating Serious Pedestrian Crash – Newark

Newark – Delaware State Police have identified German Izagurirre Bonilla, 44 of Honduras as the pedestrian who was struck and killed in a motor vehicle collision which occurred at approximately 12:23 p.m., Sunday October 1st, 2017 on I-95 southbound, south of the Salem Church Rd. overpass.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.

**UPDATE** Troopers Investigating Tractor Trailer Crash-US 13 southbound at Hyetts Corner Rd.- Middletown

US 13 Hyetts Corner Rd.

Middletown – Delaware State Police have concluded their investigation into a collision which occurred at approximately 1:54 p.m. on Monday October 2nd, 2017 at the intersection of Hyetts Corner Rd. and US 13 southbound.

The investigation revealed that a 2001 Mack Dump Truck operated by a 67 year old Newark man was attempting to turn from Hyetts Corner eastbound onto US 13 northbound, proceeding with a green light. A 2009 Volvo tractor trailer operated by Victor Nyanteng, 65, of Hillside NJ was travelling US 13 southbound and proceeded through the intersection with Hyetts Corner Rd. against the red light at which time both vehicles collided.

Traffic on US 13 southbound was restricted for an extended period of time as both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The operator of the Mack dump truck was treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital with minor injuries.

Nyanteng who was uninjured, was cited for Failure To Stop At A Red Light.

Both operators were properly restrained and drugs or alcohol is not being considered as a factor.
