Harrington- The Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify the suspect involved in a commercial burglary.

The incident occurred on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at approximately 5:34 a.m. when the suspect shattered the glass exterior door of the Harrington Moose Lodge, located at 10929 South Dupont Highway. Upon entry into the building, the suspect ransacked the premises and used an unknown object to strike the cash register.  The suspect took the cash register prior to fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a heavyset male, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and gloves. The suspect was also carrying a dark colored bookbag on his back.

Newark – As a result of a month long investigation, members of the Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force (GTF), have arrested a Philadelphia man on drug and weapons offenses.

Based on intelligence information gathered throughout the month of March 2018, GTF members were able to develop a silver Lincoln MKZ with Pennsylvania tags, as a vehicle suspected of being involved in illegal drug transactions that were taking place in the parking lots of businesses along the Churchman’s Road/Route 7 corridor.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018, GTF members observed a silver Lincoln MKZ in the parking lot of Miller’s Ale House, located at 1323 Churchman’s Road, at which time they made contact with the driver, who was identified as Eric T. Dunn, 29, of Philadelphia. A search of Dunn and the vehicle, produced a large sum of suspected drug money, multiple rounds of 9mm ammunition along with a key for a motel room at the adjacent Days Inn, located at 900 Churchman’s Road.

Through further investigation Dunn was able to be linked to two rooms at the Days Inn which were subsequently searched. As a result of the combined searches of Dunn, the vehicle and the two motel rooms, the following was recovered:

• Taurus 9mm semi-automatic handgun with extended magazine
• 225 rounds of 9mm ammunition
• 178 grams heroin
• 81 grams crack cocaine
• 57 grams powder cocaine
• 10 grams methamphetamine
• 8.5 dosage units of Suboxone
• 59 Alprazolam tablets
• $5,293.00 in suspected drug proceeds
• An assortment of drug paraphernalia to include: blenders, strainers, scales and thousands of bags commonly used for the packaging of heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.

Dunn was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2 where he was arrested and formally charged with the following:

• 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity
• 4 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance
• 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
• 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription
• 1 count of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• 1 count of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
• 1 count of Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Drugs
• 1 count of Possession of Marijuana
• 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• 1 count of Conspiracy 2^nd Degree

Dunn was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $159,750.00 cash bail.

The investigation also led to the identification of a second suspect, Iman M. Douglas, 38, also of Philadelphia, as being involved in the drug operation. Douglas is described as a black male, 6’4”, 200 lbs. Warrants are currently on file charging Douglas with the identical crimes as Dunn.

Milton- The Delaware State Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery of a Valero Gas Station.

The incident occurred around 7:42 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017, as a male subject armed with a handgun entered the Valero Gas Station located at 25576 Deep Branch Road. The suspect approached the clerk at the counter and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect was able to remove an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the store in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.

Through investigative measures, Detectives identified two suspects, 23-year-old Christian S. Ferry of Rehoboth Beach and 34-year-old Michael N. Gieron of Lewes.  One of the suspects entered the business while the other suspect waited outside in a getaway vehicle.

On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, Ferry was taken into custody at a residence located in the 300 block of Munson Street, Rehoboth Beach without incident and transported to Troop 4.  Gieron was already in custody at the Sussex Correctional Institution on unrelated charges.  Both suspects were charged with Robbery First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy Second Degree.  Ferry was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $61,000.00 secured bond.  Gieron was also arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2, received $61,000.00 secured bond on these charges and remained incarcerated.

This case continues to remain under investigation.

Georgetown- The Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the above suspect who is wanted in connection with Vehicular Assault First degree and multiple traffic charges.

The incident occurred on December 10, 2017 at approximately 4:24 a.m. when Troopers were dispatched to Oak Orchard Road at Nelsa Lane, Millsboro for a crash involving a single vehicle into a tree.  Upon arrival, Troopers discovered that the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Keith R. Jones of Georgetown had fled the scene.  A passenger in the vehicle, a 22-year-old man, was trapped and had to be extracted.  The passenger was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Jones was located at approximately 4:52 a.m. at a residence on Basin Road.  Jones had sustained injuries as a result of the crash and was subsequently transported by EMS to the Beebe Memorial Hospital where he was admitted.

Upon Jones’ release from the hospital, Troopers have been unable to locate him.  Jones  currently has active warrants out of Troop 4, for Vehicular Assault First degree, Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence-3rd Offense, Leaving the Scene of a Collision, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, and other traffic related offenses.

Greenwood– The Delaware State Police with the assistance of the Bridgeville Police Department and the Greenwood Police Department, arrest a suspect in connection with an armed robbery of a Convenience Store that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:37 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Al’s Country Store located at 4937 Hickman Road, Greenwood.  Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with a store employee who advised that a white male, dressed in all black clothing had entered the store with a handgun and demanded all of the money in the register.  The victim complied with the suspects demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect fled the scene in a silver pickup truck with its tailgate down which prevented the victim from seeing the registration plate.

The victim described the suspect as a white male, wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black leather jacket, a black ski mask, and gloves.

Shortly thereafter, a traffic stop on a silver pickup truck with the tailgate down was conducted by the Bridgeville Police Department and the Greenwood Police Department.  The operator, identified as 37-year-old Thomas E. Mitchell of Greenwood matched the description provided by the victim.  Mitchell was subsequently taken into custody and a .25 caliber firearm and a loaded magazine was observed and removed from the front passengers seat of the vehicle.

A subsequent search of Mitchell’s person yielded counterfeit currency and a review of his vehicle revealed that he applied tape to the vehicle’s registration plate and model description alongside of the truck.

Mitchell was transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with Robbery 1st degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Forgery 1st degree, and Failure to Display a License Plate.  He was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $115,001.00 cash only bond.

New Castle County – The Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for multiple thefts, that have occurred at Home Depot locations throughout New Castle County.

During the month of February 2018, the white male suspect pictured above, has committed thefts at the Christiana, Glasgow and Wilmington Home Depot locations, making off with merchandise valued in excess of $3000.00. In each of the incidents the suspect has loaded a shopping cart with an assortment of power tools and then exited the store without rendering payment, before fleeing in the pictured, silver GMC SUV. The vehicle has been observed with different license plates, both of which have been determined to be fictitious.

Kent County-The Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify suspects involved in multiple commercial burglaries.

Delaware State Police, Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) are investigating a pattern of commercial burglaries impacting multiple jurisdictions. The incidents have occurred between August 2017 and February 2018. The suspects force entry to the front doors by using a rock to break the glass and gain entry into the businesses. Once inside, the suspects have removed the cash register, cash or cash drawer prior to fleeing the scene in a black Chevrolet Equinox with a model year ranging from 2005-2009 (pictured). The suspects are described as males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, dark colored pants, and gloves.

Claymont – The Delaware State Police is releasing the name of the man that was killed in the crash on SR 92 Naamans Road west of the I-95 ramp, Claymont on Friday March 9, 2018 as Michael S. Simmons, 49 of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania.

Wilmington (19805) – Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a man which occurred in the parking lot of a local area BP Gas station.

The preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the BP Gas Station located at 4001 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington. The 31 year old male victim finished work and responded to the BP Gas Station to add air to his car tires. He drove to the air pump and began adding air to the rear passenger tire when he was suddenly struck on the head by a handgun and surrounded by three unknown young black males. Subjects began cursing at him and demanded money as one of the suspects pointed an unknown make and model hand gun at him. The suspects removed an undisclosed amount of money and cellular phone from the victim. All three suspects then fled the scene on two dirt bikes eastbound on Lancaster Pike. The victim sustained non-life threatening injury to his head.

The three suspects were described as black males wearing all black with their faces covered and one with an unknown make and model handgun. There is no further physical or clothing description available.

Wilmington (19803)–The Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify a shoplifting suspect.

The preliminary investigation has determined the suspect entered the Walgreens on Friday March 9, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. located at 4201 Concord Pike; Wilmington. The suspect forced his way through the front doors before the business opened. Once inside the suspect walked toward the front checkout counter. The suspect then went behind the counter and crawled stopping where the cigarettes were displayed. The suspect then grabbed several cartons and packs of cigarettes. As the suspect crawled out from behind the counter, single packs of cigarettes fell out of his sweatshirt. The suspect then exited the store and fled with the merchandise and was last seen near Concord Pike.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 35-40 years old, 5’10” tall, 180 lbs. wearing a red Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap, black hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans. He has a distinctive mark on his right cheek which appears to be a boil.
